Jaycee's Prayer

I was putting Jaycee and Sawyer in bed tonight and Jaycee wanted to say the prayer. She closed her eyes and folded her arms and said, "I pledge allegience to the flag..." and started to giggle. She giggled and giggled and giggled. It was so funny! She always makes us laugh. Didn't that happen on Christmas Vacation? I don't remember for sure but it totally reminded me of the old crazy lady in that show! I am so grateful for each one of my kids. What a blessing it is to be a mom!

Baked or Fried????

So today I decided to bake cookies for my kids-dessert and treats are ALWAYS higher priority for me than dinner. Right ShaLae??? haha I ordered dessert the other night at dinner and shared Casey's dinner! MY apple crisp was better than his fettucine! :) Since I had already made cookies, as it got close to time for dinner today I just didn't really know what to make. Thank heavens we had some teriyaki chicken in the freezer from Costco, some fresh corn on the cob AND some tater tots I grabbed when I was at Walmart lastnight. I giggled because this is a little bit of a battle in our marriage so I never cook them. Casey thinks they have to be deep fried-he makes THE BEST french fries ever and I love those but I think tater tots really just need to be baked. They are too greasy if you fry them. I laughed as I dished his tater tots onto his plate and he sorta freaked. Not meanly-he's really funny. SO he mooshed them and squirted ketchup all over them. Ahhh!!! I thought they were yummy and we had a good laugh. How do you cook your tater tots?

Heather....

SO....my cute sis-in-law Heather rescued my blog for me today. Yahoo!!! I am not good at the computer thing! Doesn't it look great?? Thanks Heather! Scotcheroos? I am glad it looks cute now.

Fall is here!

Doesn't it feel great? It's nice to open the windows and enjoy the cool air. Fall is my very favorite time of year! It is sad to say goodbye to summer, though. We have had so much fun this year! I love babies but I definitely function better without one--who doesn't? We are finally done with diapers and binkis and ready to fly and have fun as a family! It was so much easier this year to camp, swim, go to the park, go for a bike ride, or do whatever. Two of our FAVORITE things we did this summer were American Idol and seeing Angel Moroni be put on the Oquirrh Mountain Temple so I thought I would post some pictures on our blog since we didn't have a blog all summer! Such awesome experiences!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

The kids in front of Angel Moroni....so cool! We got to get so close! INFACT a lady wearing a church nametag asked us who we were with-when I told her I was just here with my kids and some friends she said, "Oh-you aren't supposed to be here! It's only for special workers and their families so don't tell anyone!!!" Pretty funny-the gate was open and we walked right in. Oops! Glad we did! :)
All of us...
It was so windy they were debating if they could do it that day-it was SO COOl to see the wind slow down just long enough for them to put him on...the Spirit was seriously amazing. I am so glad we got to experience this-my kids will hopefully remember it for the rest of their lives.
This picture is hilarious! Alyssa & Shay & friends were interviewed by the news-it was pretty funny to watch that night! This news guy (can't remember his name!?) was so cool. The funny part is all of these girls are our friends-we don't know who the dork is in the glasses and pink shirt...he just jumped in our picture! What a nerd! I didn't realize it or I would have told him to duck or something!!!!!!!!! I hope he got his jollies and thought he was hilarious because we just think he's a weirdo!

American Idol

American Idol

We love to watch American Idol as a family and went with the kids and my mom to the concert. Totally fun! We are nerds-we just love it!!! It's fun to watch them during the season grow and progress and then to see them in concert-my kids think they are bigger celebrities than anyone else because they watch them every week on tv! :) We are sorta sheltered! We went to the concert, stayed for autographs after the show-pretty unsuccessful-so I gathered some teenagers from our neighborhood AND my mom-no other adults wanted to come-and took Alyssa and Shay back for autographs the next night. We got there before the show ended-had a great spot in line-and had a blast. Casey missed out even though he doesn't think he did---totally fun!

We were David Cook fans before....love him...but after this picture with Shay we LOVE him!!! He seriously was so down to earth-sweet-aware-hard to explain but his pace was just different! I am sure it was chaos for all of these American Idols to sign autographs and have people screaming at them but David Cook was such a neat cool guy!!!

Sawyer's Hands

Ok-I think I am addicted to this blog thing...I think my kids are funny and my life is good and it's fun to share! Tonight Casey gave Sawyer some gloves he has for taxidermy and we heard him in the bathroom laughing hysterically at himself-he never does that. Then he said, "Who wants to see my hands?" When we went in the bathroom this is what we saw. What a goof!

You're Gonna Miss This....

I was driving the other day and heard this song on the radio...the message of it hit me so hard. That song was totally for me!!! I am a stresser/planner NOT a take it a day at a time and smell the roses kind of girl. I listened to the words and thought of high school-good times! I cried at graduation...just wasn't ready to move on-too much fun. Then college-FUN! I know it was crazy with room mates but the memories are fun(Christie...hot dog fried rice!? Gag!!!) Then being a nanny-dating-total confusion-then I married Casey. Our first apartment was so tiny-I loved it and loved being with him but we wanted more-a house, kids, etc. Looking back that little apartment was awesome and we really were happy. Now I am surrounded by 4 kids plus lots of other kids always :) and it feels so hectic BUT they are growing so fast. As much as I miss those other times in my life I am for sure gonna miss this-my kids being little and wanting my help and love and attention. I already miss them being babies-who doesn't love a newborn??? But time is flying. I guess the thing I realized is how much we sometimes want to fast forward life because it's stressful or whatever BUT it will always be stressful and life is good today. I am so grateful for my hubby and kids and the life we are living and I know I am gonna miss this!!!! SO I am trying to slow down and focus on us-not put my kids on the back burner for everyone else. I know it's silly but my goal for November and December is to focus 100% on being a mom and on MY family-I am sure I will take a meal or babysit for someone during that time but only after I've taken care of us. So weird that has to be a goal...I am a nerd! Like Trace says in the song...THESE ARE SOME GOOD TIMES!!!!

You Broke Our Family!!!

SO....Jaycee is pretty ticked off at her dad. Tonight he had to go to Home Depot to get some epoxy. Why did he need epoxy???? For the antelope that is dead in our garage of course! I live such a great life! :) The life of being married to someone who loves taxidermy! Jaycee and Sawyer wanted to go with him. As they were leaving Home Depot Jaycee said, "Dad-you are rude. You broke our family." He said this was totally out of the blue-no idea what he did. He brought them home and ran some dvds back to Redbox and she went into Shay's room and told her, "Dad ruined our family!" then she told me the same thing as I was brushing her teeth. He just walked back in the door and she said it again. Shaylee thinks she's saying that because he didn't take me and Alyssa and Shaylee with him to Home Depot but we have no idea what her problem is. She is such a fireball...she keeps us laughing. It would be so nice to know what she's thinking sometimes! She can be so random. When I picked her up from preschool last week her teacher told me she was "lively" today---what a nice lady! That totally made me laugh!

Shay's Latest Disaster!!!

She looks happy, huh???? About every other week I get a call from the sweet office ladies at the elementary school telling me Shaylee is hurt. Poor kid really finds disaster so easily! Last time they called I tried to blow them off and the vice principal got on the phone and asked me if she needed to bring her to me-Shay had told me that she cut her shoulder at recess and she was crying-the vice principal clarified it was actually a gash. Oopsie! I got in the car and was a good mom and brought her home. Today they called my cell when I was at the tire shop getting the tires rotated and having one fixed because it kept going flat. My phone rang when all 4 tires were off of the car-she had tripped over a boy at recess and skinned both of her knees. She had to finish out the day and they were so sweet--I told the receptionist at the school I need to make them cookies because they are always so good to her. They totally know her! I made sure they knew I have another child at the school and they don't know her...that should mean something, right? Poor girl! I know skinned knees hurt-I skinned mine a couple of years ago and was surprised and how bad that stings. She will be back to normal in no time! :) Thank heavens for sweet office ladies at elementary schools-I'm afraid I'm just not that patient!!!

His Name Is Alex!

Today is Sawyer's show & tell day for preschool. He is supposed to bring something that begins with an A so we talked about all of his choices-his antelope, his alligator, etc. He brought out his stuffed animal elephant. I looked at him funny and without having to ask for an explanation he said, "Mom-his name is Alex!" and smiled. So cute!!! That was pretty quick to name his elephant that begins with an e a name that starts with A so he could take him! Cute boy!

School pictures....so cute!!!

We got the girls school pictures back today-they turned out so cute!!! Alyssa looks so old and Shaylee (like always) looks like she's having a great time...she loves to have her picture taken! I always get anxiety about this day-how do you tell your kid their picture isn't so good and they need to do retakes???? So far we've done great-never had to do retakes. The bummer thing is Alyssa got her braces on right after pictures so she of course looks different-oh well. I sure love these girls!

Getting The Itch

I know a lot of women worry about their husbands having an affair---not me---I hope he doesn't get too distracted by elk to go to work or stay married. :) He was sorta late to work today because he was taking these pictures. Casey is MAKING me put these on here-it's his blog too-he says both Angie and Heather will comment about these so get excited girls!!!!! (He really said that! So this post is dedicated to Angie and Heather!)

Soccer has begun!!!

Aiden, Sawyer and Tyler...Sawyer is playing soccer with lots of little friends from our neighborhood-these are 2 of his best buddies!!! The other "buddies" were on the field playing the game when I took the picture! :) Sawyer scored 4 goals Saturday...amazing! They really played so well-it was so much fun! We are excited for his next game! Shaylee is a little "sideways" haha She is sideways because I am retarded with the computer and because she is just naturally that way!!!! Love ya Shay!
Shaylee played soccer with the same girls last year-they were SOOOO excited to see eachother after being apart all summer! Girls are a crack up-squeals and hugs and tackles to say hello. They have grown so much as a team and have fantastic coaches. It's fun to see the girls and parents every week and to watch crazy Shay play. She's a great soccer player!

You're Good About That!!!!!

I am sure everyone knows how funny my husband is-he really makes me laugh. He is always great entertainment!!! On Saturday Sawyer and Shaylee had soccer games-totally fun-I'll have to post pictures later because Casey took the camera to work (something about a buddy telling him there were elk somewhere on the way to work---he's a little obsessed with that stuff!) ANYWAYS...inbetween soccer games Casey and I ran to Costco. I usually do that during the week so I thought it would be so much easier to have him with me to help. We finished our shopping and when we got out to the car I unloaded all of our stuff while Casey held onto the cart. I didn't realize what had just happened until I lifted the last thing out of the cart so I turned to Casey and said, "Hey-thanks for all of your help!" His response was, "You're good about that!!!" We both died laughing. Now he won't quit saying it. I am pretty sure it's the next "It's all good"...what a dork!

Hannah Montana Concert

Jaycee has been raised around too many older sisters!!!! We love Hannah Montana and High School Musical and all of those crazy Disney things-Jaycee knows them better than Barney! Today she and her friend Kennedy put on a concert for us. Silly girl! Yesterday the table was her bed-today it was their stage. What a nut! Atleast she wasn't wearing the skanky dress but she had some weird dress ups on.

I also want to say go see Mama Mia!!!! I saw it tonight for the 2nd time with my sis in law, mom and grandma. Good times! Next time I am taking Casey--we'll see how much he loves me, eh? hahaha Totally fun show-cheesy but so fun!

Jaycee's Nap

My Jaycee is such a crazy girl!!! We have a couch and a loveseat-she chose to take her nap today on the coffee table. Seriously??? Looks comfy, huh? The other part of this picture that is hilarious is the dress...I really want to burn it. She wore tan capris with a pink shirt with white polka dots to preschool today, her hair was in a cute little topsy tail. EVERY SINGLE DAY she rips out her hair and throws on this lovely dress when we get home. If you look close she has also colored and stamped her legs. Lovely. The neighbors all laugh when they see her because she likes to look like a white trash kid-skanky clothes are the best in her book. I really try to have her look cute but she has her own ideas and she's the last kid and I think I have given up! She is only 3. Yikes!

The Coke Store

I have a Diet Coke problem--anyone not know that? We go to the same gas station by our house to get diet coke and Sawyer named it The Coke Store a couple of years ago. Makes me laugh-most people buy coke at the gas station, we buy gas at The Coke Store. People who know me well sometimes even call it The Coke Store-pretty funny. I think they have the best diet coke AND they have crushed ice. Yummy! I took Sawyer with me to get a coke today after we took Jaycee to preschool. As I was filling my cup Sawyer looked at me with the funniest look on his face and said, "Mom, why don't you ever try anything else?" It cracked me up. He saw all of the fun choices-Mountain Dew, Code Red, Coke, Sprite, Pepsi, Cherry Pepsi, Dr Pepper and lots of other fun things-all I ever get is Diet Coke. Pretty boring!

Labor Day Weekend

Casey and Alyssa riding the 4 wheeler.
Our crazy family...Sawyer loves to think he is shooting a deer or something...he SORTA looks up to his crazy hunter/taxidermist dad! :)
Grandma with Jaycee and Sawyer-Jaycee is a stink about having her picture taken so this was harder to get than it looks! She cries whenever you bring out the camera!
Shaylee and Sawyer-always the clowns of the family!
Sawyer and Casey staying out of the rain-we sure loved the awning on our trailer this weekend!

We just got home from our camping trip to Soapstone. Saturday the weather was beautiful!!! We rode 4 wheelers, the kids hiked around and found frogs, visited and ate lots of junk, etc. The guy a couple of camps down even shot a bear and we got to go see it. I know they are out there but to know they are so close is scary! :( Sunday it started to rain and hail. I voted to go home- kids, a dog, cold, rain and mud didn't sound like fun to me. Casey wanted to stay-he thought it would make great memories-what a great attitude! He LOVES being in the mountains. We stayed and woke up this morning to snow and cold. It took awhile to get everyone out of the mud-my parents motorhome was a little tricky to get out. Oh well-good memories, right? It was fun!
