Frazzled Teacher
So I was thinking....FOR SURE the reason Alyssa's teacher had a problem spelling "patience" is because she is so frazzled over the mating snail situation!!! Poor lady. :)

Snails
Cute Alyssa is doing an experiment with her class at school. Alyssa is very smart, sweet, timid and fun!!! Tonight she was telling me about her day-FUNNY STORY!! Everyone in the class has their own snail and she said her friend's snail is mating with someone else's snail. They have to do experiments with their snails like seeing how fast they move on different surfaces, trying to see if they can smell-qtips that are plain and with lime juice to see which one it goes towards, etc. Apparently the teacher won't let them pull the mating snails apart so they have to borrow someone else's snail to do their experiments. I started to laugh as she was telling me all of this-she thought I was so weird because I just couldn't stop laughing. Can you imagine being the teacher???? The kids? Yikes! As a mom listening to my 6th grader I think it's pretty hilarious. We all need a good laugh once in awhile. :) Alicia-if you are reading this-how is Austin's snail doing? hahahaha

School Teachers!!
So...I emailed Alyssa's teacher yesterday about a situation at school. She replied to my email and at the end thanked me for my "patients"!!! Seriously?????? SHE is my 6th graders teacher! Made me laugh! I know they all have their area of expertise and apparently spelling is not hers. I wanted to be sarcastic and tell her I am not a doctor or something but I was nice and ignored it. Still makes me giggle! :) I guess "patience" was never one of her spelling words, huh?
Way different note-I bought the best book at Deseret Book Saturday. The best part is-I finished it in 25 minutes yesterday while Jaycee took her nap!!! It's not that it's like Twilight and you can't put it down-it is simple and short and totally inspiring! It's a little book by Hilary Weeks called "Believe In What You're Doing, Believe In Who You Are". Everyone should have their own copy, it's so good and has such simple reminders of where our hearts should all be!!! I can't wait to read it again. She is truly talented and has a special way of sharing her testimony through her many talents. I am so grateful for her-I check her website all of the time and always feel uplifted after reading her words!!! Amazing lady! Buy her book! :)

Sawyer Brown
I have been a Sawyer Brown fan for a long time. I used to see him at the Delta Center. Last year we went to Wendover with our friends Craig and Shalae and this year we saw him at the Sandy Ampitheatre. Funny how times change for those guys! They still are great-we had a blast!!! I know this was back in July but I didn't have a blog then...I need to catch up!! I told my mom you haven't lived until you've seen a Sawyer Brown concert-now she's lived-the rest of you need to get to one! Good Times! :)
Bees Game
Sawyer was given Bees tickets when he played t-ball...we decided we better make time to go lastnight since it was the last home game!!! They wouldn't let us use our tickets because it was a firework night and tickets were all sold out. It worked out fine-we negotiated with scalpers (okay-I negotiated with scalpers and Casey laughed!!) and we got great seats and got to watch fireworks. The funniest part was when some people from our ward sat down in the seats next to us-they bought from the same scalper without negotiating. We paid $20 for 3 seats, they paid $20 per seat. Pretty funny!!!! We had a great time!
Starvation
This was last weekend-we had a great trip!!! The kids and Casey love camping and I love to sleep in and read and be with my family! Our trailer is the best thing we ever did-it's been a lot of fun for our family!

Hello!!!
Hello!!! We have had lots of pressure to start a blog...I've had mixed feelings about this but hope it will be a fun way to keep in touch with all of you!!! I am not so good with computers so just trying to position a picture of my kids has been a battle-confirms I am a little retarded!! :) With a little help from all of you it will look better!! Stay tuned! I LOVE the saying "Finding Joy in the Journey"--it really is something I try so hard to do! I have always hated my name-lots of jokes and everyone thinks they are sooo funny! (Not very many of them were!) I naturally am always trying so hard to stay on top of life-to attempt being organized, keep my house clean, read my scriptures, love and teach my kids, be a good wife to my awesome husband, visit teach, help kids with homework, be a good neighbor, pull the weeks (YUCK!), make dinner, do laundry, the list just doesn't end!!! During all of that it is so hard to focus on the JOY...the blessings that are all around me. It seems like life is passing me by-Casey and I have been married for almost 13 awesome years and our kids are growing so fast. We have both been molded into better people thru experiences in life and have always been surrounded by amazing people. I hope to focus on the everyday Joys and learn to enjoy the journey!!!!
