American Idol Tour

All of the American Idols....they sang "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey...did a great job!
Kris-he really was amazing-I will buy his cd and love it I am sure!
Adam-way freakier in person-and for sure gayer-made me laugh. BUT an incredible performer-way different than any of them...a whole different show when he was on stage....
Our rockin grandma, Jaycee, Shay & Alyssa.....
Casey & I-love love love this guy! Isn't he cute???

I have to admit I wasn't totally excited for the tour this year-it's been so busy being in Young Womens that I just didn't get as into it. BUT it was an amazing show! We loved every minute of it and so did our kids! Way fun! It's the first year we didn't stay for pictures and autographs but it's nice to be home earlier than usual and I feel grateful to not be fighting the crowds. I turn into an idiot at those things-hard to believe, I know.

Telemarketers!

Earlier tonight Jaycee answered the phone...after she hung up she was totally giggling and said to Casey, "That lady wanted to sleep with you!" Casey said, "WHAT?" Jaycee-"She said she wanted to sleep with Casey Olson. Only mom sleeps with you."
Pretty sure she said SPEAK with him-dang funny story. Loser telemarketers.

Stadium of Fire

Alyssa had the awesome opportunity to dance in Stadium of Fire....it was a TON of work and a TON of fun....she loved it!!! The entire show was awesome-I love this country and it is neat to celebrate such an awesome holiday! Last time Alyssa was in Stadium of Fire she danced right in front of us-this time we weren't so lucky-but the little we saw of her was fun! She did great. The Jonas Brothers were there this year-they actually did a really good job-they brought a neat energy to the show. The kids were thrilled and it was cool to hear them sing along. Fun fun night-now we can get back to life again-my house really needs to be cleaned and we all need a little bit of sleep! ;)

I'm trying to be a good mom.....

Saturday Casey was responsible for the kids for 1 hour...just long enough for me to shower & get ready for the day. 5 minutes into my shower someone was pounding on the door-lovely. When I got out I found cute Sawyer waiting very impatiently in my bedroom for me to be done-he had a surprise for me. While I was showering Casey decided to mow the lawn & the kids wandered over to the neighbor's yard sale. They were SO GENEROUS and sweet to my kids-it was the end of the sale so they let them take whatever they wanted FOR FREE! Can you believe it? Among the treasures they found I ended up with beautiful jewelry that they were so excited about-they just knew I would love every single piece. Sawyer keeps looking thru them and choosing what he would like me to wear-I nicely brush him off and tell him maybe tomorrow so he asked me, "Do you even like what I got for you at the sale mom???" All of you fabulous better than me moms out there please tell me what you would do!!! Do I wear it til I get out the door and take them off? Sounds a little crusty! Do I wear them just while I am home in my sweats? Or do I somehow muster up every ounce of love that I have for my son and wear it all proudly...even the lovely 80's green bead necklace with the huge bracelet and lovely matching ear rings????

Inspiration

If you want to be completely inspired and have a good little cry....go to Hilary Weeks from my blog...click on her blog and read about her experience with the incredible Huish family. WOW! I love love love her song "If I Only Had Today"-I listen to it often-good little reminder of the simple things that really do matter in this life-after reading this blog entry I will always think of it differently as I listen to it. It's so humbling to know that amazing people with very hard experiences can be such an inspiration to us. We don't know the Huish family but know another just like them-amazing Trent & his family. Our lives were completely changed seeing their experiences and watching everything unfold. Our hearts were broken for them and our testimonies were strengthened so much. I am so grateful for the Spirit-that as we live close to it and strive to be in the right places we can be a blessing to those around us. The journey of life is incredible and it really is The Great Plan of Happiness. Grab a kleenex and go check it out.

Amazing rainbows

This picture doesn't even come close to capturing it but the rainbows last night were absolutely beautiful!!! Hope you all got to see them. Casey kept trying to take pictures of it with my phone-this is a picture Alyssa took with our camera. I wish we were photographers-it really was amazing!
